John Harris's poems have been out-of-print for many years. In The Cornish Poet, the founder and Secretary of the .John Harris Society presents a selection of John Harris's poems which have been read at events of the Society over the last live years.
John Harris was a miner who worked underground at Dolcoath from the age of 12. He was born and brought up in Bolenowe. married and lived in Troon for twelve years. He then moved to Falmouth where he lived the rest of his life. Ills poems give a moving insight into Victorian life in the mining area of Camborne and in the cosmopolitan world of Falmouth.

This selection of poems is a worthy tribute to a remarkable man. The cost is £5.95 and is available in late-April 2002 (each order provides £1.00 for the John Harris Society). It can be ordered from:
